via the BBC:
Researchers found that great tits are laying eggs earlier in the spring than they used to, keeping step with the earlier emergence of caterpillars.
Writing in the journal Science, they point out that the same birds in the Netherlands have not managed to adjust. Understanding why some species in some places are affected more than others by climatic shifts is vital, they say.
I'm encouraged, and hope that the coming summer and possible record temperatures will be met with continued coping by Britain's great tits.

If only the bloody moths, flies, mosquitos, bees/wasps, and other buggery riffraff would cope a bit less well with the warmth and lack of a proper winter.

And if you don't like Tits, then please help out the Red-Cockaded Woodpecker: a bird whose whole common name is a giant innuendo!

Unfortunately for me, there's a woodpecker who works on the chimney of my house every morning. For anyone who likes peckers, I'd be willing to catch him and give him to you for free.

This is where I post a rebuttal which a picture of a large pecker, but as a straight guy, I can't stop staring at those two beautiful tits.

We've been getting some peckers in the back yard.
Also, we have a bird feeder which holds 9 lbs(!) of seed.
Those birds are pigs. They can go through the whole thing in 1 week.
No tits though.
Oh and we also have a suet feeder. The peckers like the grease.
Apparently so do tits, but not at my place. We just get the peckers and a few other kinds on the grease.
Here is a picture off the net of bushtits on the grease.
