I just have been asked to update my billing information by the "iTunes Store". Neither Safari nor Firefox warn me from the phishing attempt. So much for that.

Don't post links to phishing sites. Gullible 'net users and all that. -CW

You could use 1Password with it's integrated PhishTank support.
Or OpenDNS if that's your thing.

Firefox is further in this respect than Safari. That's where open source wins, there are simply more people working on the product at any time.

My Safari has phishing protection. It's called 'not being an idiot'.

Yeah, if you can't tell ebay.com from ebay.iamgoingtostealyouridentity.ru, then you deserve it. Darwin theory.

True that. But many people aren't so much idiots as inexperienced.

Not really. I reported the page as fraud almost 8 hours ago using Firefox' fraud reporter and Firefox still doesn't warn me about it.
The new Opera 9.5 (closed source) which I only tried out because it was released today and to whom I didn't report that page, does warn me.
