Sounds like a great lineup.

I'm determined to do a festival like that before I get old.

Oops. Too late.

Maybe I'll revise my goals.

I heard Maya said a bunch of times while on stage that she was retiring. Weird.

I want to see Metallica so bad... I'm guessing they'll have a tour once "Death Magnetic" is released.

metallica played a show thursday before their set at bonnaroo at a place in Nashville called the basement for 175 people, that'd be crazy to see metallica at a small club.

Was Kanye's show as bad as is being reported? Booing and vandalism and such? Was the delay in his performance explained there?

Otherwise it sounds like quite an event, but maybe this particular part of it wasn't so great...

I think it's one of those "give 'em another chance after Saint Anger" things. I didn't think it sucked, but it wasn't up to what I expected of them.

Metallica started to suck hard once they cut their hair.

Maybe I'll give the new stuff a listen, but I'll wager that it'll be as bad as ReLoad.

Yeah, you asked for that one!

And yes, many of us guys still hold out hope for Metallica for posterity's sake. I've seen them almost every year since the Fully Loaded tour, and I listen to the Black album to help me forgive them for St Anger.

Pearl Jam was scheduled from 10:15 - 12:15 and went til almost 1:15 which put kanye's stage crew an hour behind. I imagine you can't break down pearl jam's stuff and set up Kanye's elaborate stage show in an hour and a half. So pearl jam caused an hour delay then his main tv screen which is an integral part of his show wasn't working, took them 30 mins or so to fix that. It wasn't kanye's fault, and his performance was quite entertaining I was surprised.

just found this out

Heavy metal giants Metallica played a secret pre-Bonnaroo warm-up gig at Nashville venue the Basement Thursday night in front of an estimated 175 people. The audience consisted of Metallica fan club members, Grimey’s/Basement employees and their guests. A video from last night’s show has been posted on YouTube.

The setlist, via Blabbermouth.net
01. No Remorse
02. Fuel
03. Harvester Of Sorrow
04. Welcome Home (Sanitarium)
05. For Whom The Bell Tolls
06. Master Of Puppets
07. Sad But True
08. Motorbreath
09. Seek And Destroy

So, being very, very late in the evening/morning, the crowd wasn't particularly sympathetic that it wasn't Kanye's fault? That sort of figures... Reading the press about it, it almost sounded like he just was late to get to the stage. Whatever else people say about him, Kanye is a showman, and it just didn't seem right that he would be "late" himself. Thanks for the clarification.

he put on a great show, it was a special glow in the dark show which didn't work as well by 530 am when the sun started to rise. I think if his performance had been on time, he'd have been talked about as the highlight of Bonnaroo, but it'd be tough to top Pearl Jam's 3 hour set.

Set 1 Hard To Imagine, Corduroy, All Night, Why Go, Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town, Down, Who You Are, Severed Hand, 1/2 Full, Animal, Even Flow, Daughter, Gone, Love Reign O'er Me, Do The Evolution, Rearviewmirror
Encore 1 W.M.A., Better Man(Save it for Later), Black, Life Wasted, Crazy Mary, Porch
Encore 2 No More, Release, Alive
Encore 3 All Along The Watchtower
