What ever happened to acid rain? Back in elementary school, they were convincing us that there would be no statues left, and we'd all be walking around with skulls instead of heads, as all our flesh would dissolve from the acid rain. As far as I can see, we still have statues, and my skull is well covered...

It's really strange that Missy Gold left the industry completely while her sister continued to act.

I didn't know her name, but I'm assuming her sister is Tracy Gold (Growing Pains)? What has she done of relevance lately?

The keyword was relevance. It looks like the answer is one episode of the Deadzone a few years ago.

Well, she had her 4th kid a couple of months ago.

Anyway, she hasn't done anything as big as her role on Growing Pains, but at least she's been active. Contrast that with Missy, who hasn't acted at all since Benson: Missy Gold

I guess Missy was too busy getting her Ph. D. in psychology.

I think he came back to Fenway recently, and threw out the first pitch and all that. Two World Championships can help to take the sting out of that for Sox fans.

(It was Opening Day, in fact....)

I always felt he got an unfairly bad rap, and should be in the Hall of Fame.

For some reason one of Randman's posts said I deleted it for "spam". I don't recall deleting it, so I hope it's not the hampstor taking things into his own hands.

Anyway, it's back now (undeleted).

The Celtics Suck
By Eric Williams, published Nov 16, 2006

I’m going to be totally honest and admit that it nearly broke my heart to write the headline that I did for this article, but as a national sports columnist, I get to paid to call it like I see it – and no matter how deep and lengthy my allegiance is to the Celtics – I have to say that, after their season-opening 91-87 loss at home to the New Orleans Hornets, one which came only days after the death of the franchise’s greatest personality (Red Auerbach), the Celtics may have sunk to their lowest point since they last hoisted the NBA championship two decades ago.

If the Celtics can’t get up for a game in which they could honor Auerbach with a win, and following an emotional pre-game ceremony honoring one of the sport’s biggest contributors, especially against a team that is roughly their equal, they should be ashamed and embarrassed to disgrace the legendary Celtics jerseys that they now make a mockery of, not to mention the famous Boston slogan, “Celtics Pride.”

As a matter of fact, after two games, it would appear that the Celtics are as clueless as ever – and are going to waste the remaining years of their best player, superstar, Paul Pierce – with general manager Danny Ainge’s idiotic youth movement.

What’s worse is the fact that both Ainge and head coach, Doc Rivers, actually believe that the route they are currently taking, is going to get the Celtics back into championship contention at some point in the near future.

Rivers must be smoking some serious stuff – along with Ainge of course.
