Their stock has been up and down, but it has gone up over the past few days... I did invest a bit, but now I am kind of disappointed I did. They are supposed to get some new battery tech. next year, but after doing some more research, the whole thing stinks.

If you think you will save money by driving one of these, you won't. You have to buy a special battery charger that costs thousands of dollars, and the batteries themselves are not necessarily even coming to market next year.

As for the cars themselves, I test drove one, how horrid. Like a little go-cart... The big companies like Nissan will offer consumers what they want. And their warranty is not very good either... and the cars are not that safe: way too small - even a small accident and you could be squished. They are also hand built in Quebec, and really are cheap looking and feeling.

Anyone know of any other good electric cars out there?

I'm going to be keeping my eye on this company.

Electric Cars, Green Vehicle :: Phoenix Motorcars, Inc.

But I think you are correct that the established companies will end up with the best solutions. Who knows at this point.

Batteries are still too toxic and they require a long time to recharge through conventional means. I think the solid state supercapacitor will be the important evolution if they can get it to hold a larger charge.
