Sort of. I posted about this long ago, in a forum far far away. Anyway, my boat was finally painted this past spring, FINALLY, because I'd been waiting on paint. I bought this thing with trailer and engine for $100 back in 2000 or so; I sandblasted the trailer, resprayed it, ripped up the floor, installed new foam, and refiberglassed it back in. Then I was waiting for paint, until just recently. Now she's in Milwaukee in marina, and I'm hoping to get her wet as soon as possible (pun intended). Anyway, here's pics:

She has a 1965 Johnson 25hp outboard, and the name on the side said "EL RAE, Rice Lake WI"

It's nothing super fancy, but it floats, and should be fun. I'll post more later.

That boat looks nice. Post some when you get her in the water.

I knew I'd get flack for that. It's my friend's CRV, which is basically a honda civic wagon only higher. Anyway, I have a hitch ordered for my 1989 Honda Accord. Yep. Towing with less than 100hp. I guess that makes me a fag according to most guys who tow things once every few years (see, that's why they need huge SUVs/trucks, because they tow their boat like every other year).

Looks like a fun ride.

And with 25hp, it's got more than your Civic, right ?

OK fine, if he wants to stick around fine...

He wants comments on his boat, here we go...

So you bought a boat. Is that supposed to be interesting? Are you so starved for attention that you need to post every mundane detail of your boring life on a message board that has repeatedly banned you? Can you see how that might be pathetic?

Here's a news flash... no one gives a crap about your desk, your speakers, your boat or whatever other BORING thing is going on with your life.

GET A BLOG.

Really? Seems to me lots of people were impressed with my desk and sound system. Seems to me a lot of people were interested in my portfolio. Seems to me that you might be a bit jealous you have crappy hobbies and a boring life. Either way, I don't care much. It's obvious that some people care, and some don't. If you don't, just hit the back button. There's no need to be negative about things all the time.

In case you didn't read the thread, and went immediately into rant mode: he bought the boat for $ 100 (which indicates that it was pretty run down) and then completely restored it himself.

Look at the pics, he's done a great job on remodeling it.

But yeah, definitely must be a longtime member in disguise.

But if I had try to disguise my identity, you would NOT have thought that I would make such a dumb mistake as to link to my own photobucket, did you ?

My point is that every one of your posts are just you grandstanding and chronicling your life's accomplishments. Do you see other people using the message board for this purpose? What do you think it says about you as a person that you feel the need to post pictures of every project and put them on a message board filled with strangers? Strangers who have banned you over and over and over... and over... and over... and over... and over... and over... and over... and over... and over... and over... and over... and over... and over... and over... and over... and over... and over... and over... and over... and over... and over... and over... and over... and over... and over... and over... and over... and over... and over... and over... and over... and over... and over... and over... and over... and over... and over...

Are you completely starved for attention and praise? What gives?

Nice job. I'm jealous. I would love to have a boat- even one that just putts around the water. Might consider restoring an older one. Seems like a good investment.

Ah I see. So sharing something interesting/an accomplishment is not okay to share with strangers, but sharing your opinion is? I don't understand. Everything you've just said could be applied to even interacting at all on a messageboard.

And <whooosh!> he's gone...

I need to start an underground betting ring for the time (over/under) that Ca$h posts here before he is banned.

Edit: It doesn't seem like GH bans Rob since he posted earlier in this thread and Rob stayed for a bit. I wonder what masked man behind the scenes is responsible for giving Rob the axe every time.

I think most of the mods actually think that the Cash permaban is stupid.
But they don't want to incite dissent among their own ranks.

IMO, permabans should be replaced with quick temp bans everytime something happens. Give Cash a two week or four week time out everytime he crosses the border. Keep him on a short leash.

This constant game of banning is tired and has not the intended effect.

I don't get why this guy is getting banned all the time. He seems perfectly friendly and harmless. No doubt there was some kind of ruckus. But what, no second chances? Ever?

Technically there were second chances, of course I'm talking 3-4 years ago at this point.

Yes, it IS very silly to keep banning him at this stage in the game, but somebody is still sticking by his/her guns.

Yes, he had second chances, and a combination of baiting him and his temper got him banned again.

We all know Rob has a temper, he knows it. What he needs is a time out everytime he kreaks out, with the hope tht he can come back and play as long as he behaves.

The current combination of laissez-faire and immediate ban (sometime after days of letting him post) is just a mockery.

Imagine you had a coffee shop, and there was one customer in particular who was always making your other customers upset. You've kicked him out time and time again but he keeps coming back. Sometimes he promises to be good and not cause problems, and he might for a few weeks but he always eventually does something to get kicked out.

How long would it take you before you just told him to get out on sight? How many chances does someone get? You say second chance, how about 50 chances? He's been banned at least 50 times.

He's had his chances and he's failed. No more chances.

I applaud the mods decision to ban him on site.

The funny thing is, is that if Ca$h returned with a different handle, and didn't make it known who he was, and stopped posting endless mundane facts about his life, he would blend right in..

But the truth is that the only reason he posts here is to tell us all about every mundane detail in his life and rub it in our faces that he is back. He cannot be anonymous. He craves the attention like a drug. He loves being a celebrity.

There are hundreds of thousands of message boards on the internet and for some reason he insists on coming back to this one over and over. I think he might be mentally ill.

Well, the day I snapped was the day that he had the nerve to argue with me that the DC sniper was awesome and that what he was doing by hunting humans was cool just like in the movie Fight Club. I seriously lost it.

When I asked if he thought it would be cool if a stranger shot his wife dead things escalated.

I had hated him long before that, but it was more of a playful hate.

Most posts around here are people discussing current events, technology, apple, entertainment, or discussing problems and asking questions.

90% of Ca$h's posts are discussing him, his accomplishments and his life. It's always all about him. It's ok for people to occasionally make posts about themselves... but it's all he ever does.

Throw in the fact that he's a narrow-minded, confrontational and has bizarre self-centered opinions on everything and you have a very annoying ticking timebomb.

Are you sure that wasn't subversive flippancy? Showboating just to get a rise? Do you really think he meant it?

This doesn't prove he meant it. You can go on and on with a bad jest. But still, it does throw a dubious light on matters because, why would you?

If he really did mean it he is an absolute sociopath. That is not impossible, but seems unlikely.

He meant it and he didn't. I've joked about all sorts of horrible things in the past.

He just took it to another level.

But he really wouldn't give it up. The DC sniper incident was one of the most tragic and terrible things I have ever had to go through. I knew many people who were directly impacted.

He touched on a nerve. A bad nerve.

I'm as fun-loving and playful as anyone you'll ever meet... but it's a strange thing. Cancer jokes might funny... until you get cancer. Pedophile jokes may be funny... until your daughter gets kidnapped...

Sniper jokes might be funny to him. Comparing it to a stupid movie might amuse you... but it becomes a lot less amusing when people around you are dying.

What really annoyed me was how touchy he got when I started talking about people gunning down his wife. He really couldn't make the connection between his loved ones and the dead people on the television.

I don't think explanations can really do it justice. You need to find some old threads.
I find Ca$h kind of amusing, to be honest.
