Top picture, I'm pretty sure my last house in London is on there - somewhere at the very top.

Question for Brits: You guys have nearly identical street markings for driving, but one we don't have in the States are the zig-zag lines. What do those indicate when driving?

Do not park on zigzag markings: You will obstruct vision. And no overtaking.
Warning of pedestrian crossing or road hump (Sleeping policeman) to slow traffic. White
Also warning of school, outside school gates. Yellow
see http://www.2pass.co.uk/crossing.htm

Guess that's easier than painting curbs red and putting up 3 different signs. I laughed at the "sleeping policeman" for speed bumps.

Spectacular photos!
Wasn't it also the Boston.com that had those fantastic photos from the Olympics?
Wonder how they took them, or, how they avoided camera shake (I assume it's from a helicopter)...

The link states that gyro-stabilized tripods were used.

the images must have been inverted because everyone is driving on the wrong side of the street.

Actually, people drive on the left in 74 countries (31% of all nations). It's no so weird.

My office is just out of frame on pictures 1 and 12. Annoying- it would be cool to see it like that.

You just don't realise how many children can fit on one scooter until you've been to Naples.

Beautiful pictures. I want to go back to London really bad. I was too young to remember it when I went, and I kick myself everytime I see a wonderful photo of London.

Yes left is the correct side, in mainland China they drive on the right and the driving standard is terrible.

From a helicopter, I don't think so, even with the aligning of separate images.

You don't necessarily need to take multiple for HDR. Auto exposure bracketing and RAW photos will do also, just not as well.

Cool pictures. Looks like that place could make for a confusing driving situation though.

Driving on the left makes more sense security wise. Here's why : most people in the world are right handed, most cars in the world are manual shift. To change gear when you still have the strongest/best coordinated hand holding the steering wheel is a good thing.
I thought that at one time the Chinese drove on the left. The Swedes did, and then changed.

Actually, left hand drive makes more sense. The right (dominant) hand is in a position where it can both shift and steer, leaving my left hand for more important things like talking on my cell phone and eating Big Macs.
