It suddenly occurred to me why Steve Jobs made such a big deal about last week's announcement. {I was expecting a hardware announcement a little more dramatic (i.e., something brand-new that we hadn't even imagined).}
And then when I started thinking about the coolness of the Genius List I realized how revolutionary it is. The music industry, for the first time, will be able to tell how many copies of any given song are circulating, and compare that with their sales. Surely that's pretty damn novel for them.
I don't mind... after all, my identity is anonymous and I've already discovered how well it works!
