Anybody excited about more and more humans reaching space? At this rate, you'll have your pick to go to space from China, India, Russia, Brazil, or the U.S.A., as a retirement trip.
The unmanned probe will reach its destination around Nov 8. Hopefully the Indian restaurant in my neighborhood will have any sort of relevant TV programming.

Great stuff! I guess the Chinese are looking at the moon too. As economic power shifts east over the next few decades I guess the US has probably blown it's chance to control space. America no longer has the will to give NASA the $$ it takes to get back to the moon, let alone Mars and in a few years, when the shuttle retires, America will have no heavy lifting capability and will need to rely on Russia and the ESA to lift junk into orbit.
The first person on mars will be Chinese. No question.

I'm hoping this will trigger another space race and possibly boost our economy.

So, it looks like the Indians will be the first peeps on the moon then?

If you don't count the Americans.

is it nearly 2010 already!!! And one of the last missions just got pushed to fit in emergency repairs to the Hubble (which is a good use I'd say).
Anyway , as any fule knows, the Americans went to the moon in a big warehouse in Kansas.
On a foot note the BBC news mentioned that the Indian mission cost just $18,000,000. Talk about budget space!
