Sorry for this post but we're desperately looking for Mac support people.
I work for a university in midtown NYC and the facility I'm at has two positions opened for Mac support (well 80/20% Mac/PC). We've been trying to fill them for like a year. This is an unofficial inquiry as the university doesn't do it this way but their HR efforts bring zero results so far and head hunters the HR has contracts with are useless, they are mainly sending PC techs with some MAC experience... While we are getting frustrated because we need to hire someone. I have found one really good guy via post on Ars Technica a while ago. I hope there are more out there. I can't post many details since I'm not authorized but please email me for more info. Here are some basic requirements:
- Must be legal to work in US: citizen or resident
- Must (already) live close to Manhattan (reliable commute a must)
- Must have a college degree or equivalent work experience - sorry, I stand corrected, HS is not enough for this position
- Must be real Mac geek (experience > education)
- Work is mostly with Macs but Windows knowledge a big plus
- Must have friendly personality and good people skills
email me at:
adam.anon (at) gmail
Please, no head hunters, only interested individuals, thanks!
Adam

No objections to the post, this sort of thing is welcome.
I am curious about your last effort. Didn't anyone work out? Also, it looks like you've quit the biomedical research facility to move to a university position.

Sorry, it's the same thing, it is a biomedical research facility that's a part of a university: research+education, so we have have professors here running research labs and students (MD, MD/PhD) , postdoctoral fellows, visitors, etc. work in these labs plus some administration people. I should have looked that old post up We had two positions back then. I found one guy on Ars Technica and the other was filled by HR. But now we have two more opened, since like June! So yeah, it's pretty much the same situation. It's just the HR stubbornly would not allocate any $$ to post on Mac geek sites
Cheers!
Adam
