No, its not meant to be the three things type of thread thats in the feedback section, just a general 'why'.

Me, basically I'm stuck at the house at nights with two kids. French TV is shite, tried the blogging thing but the comments section got a bit heated, and then very spammed, plus it seems that you HAVE to blog about something, anything or else you're not a real blogger.

The MacNN lounge feels sort of like a virtual bar to me. Walk in, see what people are talking about, etc etc.

One of the things that I don't like is the time difference that I have with the majority, sometimes you completely miss out on some good threads.

Obviously I hate everyone and wish to torture them with my continued presence.

Also, I really like that Gossamer guy.

If I had a heart, it'd be warmed by the fact that you took the time to type ʒ instead of 3. Also, that you're lying through your teeth, since your account predates the Original Dakar by two years.

I come here to laugh at Mac users.

Oh wait...

No, I really just stick around for the sense of community. I took a hiatus for awhile (eight months, maybe? I don't remember), and got right back in to the stupid Lounge as soon I returned.

This is one of the less annoying forums on the Internet. It's not overly big with too many users, and (most) people tend to get along with each other. Although I wouldn't cry if a few unnamed individuals mysteriously disappeared.
For all the trash I talk, I sure own a lot of Macs...

After 8+ years it is the camaraderie/community. (I do feel like I "know" a lot of you although I have never met anyone in real life.)

Fun way to kill time and maybe let off some steam if need be. (Like right now I should be writing the very last section of my masters thesis but instead I am in here.)

Find out what's going on in the world. (It's amazing how much news I hear first in the Lounge or Poli/War Lounge.)

Every once in a great while get to do something decent like help out that suicidal kid. (MacGallant)

Oh, and the Hot Babes thread.

I haven't had a computer problem in years, so that's not what keeps me coming back. Like dcmacdaddy said - it's like I "know" a lot of you, and some people choose to share more of themselves than others do.

It's a great time killer as well. My job has me stuck in front of a computer for some 15 to 20 hours a week, and I need SOMETHING to distract me from the ever-looming workload I have, so NN fulfills that role quite nicely.

People are responding seriously, so I guess I should too...

1. The quasi-camaraderie that plenty of us apparently feel.
2. The people here are generally good-natured, intelligent, and perhaps most importantly, funny.
3. I get links to plenty of "different" stories here that I don't see on Digg or other sites.
4. Habit. It's become part of my daily routine.
5. Many of you have the same interests as me. None of my "real-life" friends are the slightest bit tech-savvy. Most of them use me as tech-support, actually. I guess MacNN is somewhat of a replacement for the conversations that I don't have in person.
