say there was a, cough, "way" of accessing Hulu from outside the states. Just out of interest, say someone was looking to see what was cool on US TV as opposed to, for example, UK telly, what's good to watch? (If I could watch it, which I (or someone like me maybe), can't.

how can I rephrase this? Say I had looked at IP proxy services and had found that I had access to Hulu. If I had done that thing, etc...

D'oh. OK Here we go. In flagrant contradiction of international copyright I have managed to illegally view Hulu material in the UK. Which US shows are worth the lengthy jail sentence now coming my way.

Genre shows, comedy, science and tech shows, the usual. Obv. we get all the big shows on the beeb or sky (eventually) but I was looking for interesting, quirky or new US content to have a look at.

It reminds me of watching MacGyver reruns as a kid - the lone "secret agent" guy, sexual tension with a female co-star, the older guy, and the gadget/contraptions. I enjoy it.

I wish I could get "Shameless" on Hulu. British TV is soooo much more ... uhmm ... not conservative than American TV.

My wife bought Shameless season 1 on DVD and we loved it.

I would agree on House. Of course it's American with a British lead actor.

My vote goes to "Dexter". However, I just jumped onto Hulu, and unfortunately it seems no premium channel shows are listed. I guess if it did, then I'd throw "Entourage" in there too.

Looks like Boxee, with standard legal usage, is a waste of time for me in France. Bl**dy frogs just don't want anything being broadcast without going through entities run by Sarkozy's friends/puppets.

I figured out my hulu problem. between the hours of 1 am and 9 am all the offices on campus are closed down, and the schools network isn't as bogged down. (much better hulu, no skips, no nothing. this goes for all video sites, and the web is generally faster) (we are currently down 2 servers due to mechanical complications and the network is in code irregular) We will, as long as the techie i spoke with is correct, be getting upgraded servers + more then we have now, during the winter break, when there is minimum activity student and faculty wise.

I've been watching this recently. Went through season one the past few days and am now caught up on season two. I like it. It's a cross between A-Team, Alias, and MacGyver. A bit more violent than A-Team, not dark or highly emotional like Alias, and not dependent on gadgets like MacGyver. I wouldn't mind some episode arcs though (independent of him trying to find out more about who burned him, which is an interesting, recurring theme).

The central theme of him finding out who burned sometimes seems like a secondary (or tertiary) arc...the show has turned into good guy helps people in trouble. Not that that is bad though.

They could do a bit more with his brother. It's been a while since I've watched, but I don't think they ever did anything with him buying that limo company. Also the turmoil with his ex/girlfriend would probably count.

Big Bang Theory - One joke told three different ways, repeatedly. Funny the first time. Sort of a Third Rock love child.

While Big Bang Theory is your standard fare sit com, sometimes you'll crave something light and mindless, and you could do much worse than BBT and Chuck.

The christmas episode of BBT was the funniest yet (after a rather downward slump in season 2).
