Crap.

"Euro" something.

They used it on Enterprise B through D.

Edit: Eurostile?

Looks like a slightly modified version of it to me. The descender in the g, for instance, is shorter than in Eurostile. Or perhaps that’s just due to the artefacting in the picture.

It looks like they manipulated the width to something slightly less than 100%.

Or used Eurostile Condensed

To me, that looks about as close as you will get.

Look after my manor, or I will bum you, literally, to death.

I'm well aware of the available styles. I say Eurostile as a cover-all type of name. I proposed a manual change to width because, like Oisin, it doesn't look quite right (smooth, that is).

Star Trek used Microgramma, not Eurostile, though they're very similar.

From your sig picture, you're a gamer. One of the earliest RPGs to be marketed was "Star Fleet Battles" (originally by Task Force Games, now by Armadillo Design Bureau), and knowing EVERYTHING about the Star Trek universe was pretty much essential to success. Ya gotta know this stuff when you're putting together your miniatures, ya know.

Yeah the original Next Gen font was Microgamma. I used to work in character licensing and churned out stacks of TOS and NG back packs etc. We had to have all the correct fontage etc. I still have the TOS font on my mac somewhere I'm sure. Spent many a happy afternoon knocking up transporter effects in photoshop for packaging. Ah the memories!

Mmmmmm...fonts...

I had thought the Enterprise font was Eurostile for a long, long time. Way to shatter years of deeply-held beliefs, ghporter.

And he did it with one short, direct sentence. It's an ugly, powerful monster, we've created.

Gee, sorry to crash those dreams, guy. But having been a Trek fan from way back when they hadn't even made one movie, I sort of soaked up all sorts of stuff about it.
