Majel Roddenberry, 76: Star Trek's Nurse Chapel

Majel Barrett Roddenberry, Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry's widow who nurtured the legacy of the seminal science fiction TV series after his death, has died. She was 76.

Roddenberry died of leukemia Thursday morning at her home in Bel-Air, said Sean Rossall, a family spokesman.

The original Number One, may she rest in peace.

Very sad.

She was to do the voice of the computer in the new Trek film. I hope they got her to do one last run with that voice. It would be nice to hear her again.

EDIT: looks like her work doing the voice of the Enterprise was finished.

Yeah, RIP, she was quite involved in a number of series, including TOS, and TNG, in some episodes of Star Trek Enterprise and Earth Final Conflict

Said to see her go

Very sad indeed. Nobody else was involved in every single Star Trek series and movie, IIRC, and she played such memorable characters.
