What Is The Etiquette Re: Malware In Blind Links Here At MacNN?

I upgraded my system and thought I'd gotten rid of all spyware and malware until after I clicked on the link at the following post.

(This link takes you to the suspected post. From there do not click that link marked "Abe" unless you don't mind the possibility of downloading spyware.)

What is the etiquette for such things here? Report it? Or not? How can it be proved? How come no one else mentions things like this?

There was a link on that page that loaded an mp3 into my Safari window.

Thanks. I just wanted feedback from the posters on this. No offense to the Admins. They must know it it is going on and allow it or can't do anything about it. Or if they are unaware of it they would want to know if anyone else has experienced this problem and to find the answer they would pose the question in a thread somewhere.

I certainly wouldn't have posted that link if I thought there was any malware there. I see an ad at the top of the page and links to the guys' music, but there doesn't appear to me anything malicious there.

Unless you think that only malware can possibly be keeping Abe Vigoda alive after all these years.
In that case, whatever you do, don't click this.

(was aberdeenwriter ever banned in the feedback forum, or am I confusing him with Kevin?)

If you are innocent, I apologize. But there is no way to prove or disprove it now. That is why I asked about the proper etiquette for such things.

Is there technology which could have made you an unwitting accomplice in such a thing?

IOW, you placed an innocent (but blind) link and someone waved their fairy malware 'dust' over that link?

Could abevigoda.com have gotten hacked briefly that day? It's possible, I suppose. It would be funny if Abe outlived the website whose sole purpose is to report on whether or not he is still alive (and pimp some music)....

But the problems that I was having with my computer that day and the next have mysteriously disappeared. How and why would that happen on that day(s) and not since?
