I didn't leave the UK for any specific reason, but I seem to be able to find more and more for not going back.
From the article :
But Rose Connor, a Northampton mother jailed in 2006 when she was seven months pregnant, says it was a waste of time, and her son never returned to school.
What a joke. What a third world country. NuLabour, same old shite.

While severe, it sure makes sense to ensure kids get an education.
Educated people tend to get jobs and such, where as kids w/o one tend to run into problems for themselves and society. Sounds like the community is trying to keep kids in school for their own good and if parents are negligent in ensuring this, the parents will be punished.

The other part of the problem is that NuLabour have removed all methods a parent would use to punish their kids.
Can't smack 'em. Can't lock them in their room. Can't lock them in a cupboard under the stairs. Can't hide their shoes to stop them going out. Can't take their Playstation or Internet access off them.
If your kid has a mind to misbehave in the UK, you're basically knackered.

Been inclined to wander... off the beaten track.
That's where there's thunder... and the wind shouts back.

They're raising their kids in Britain. Isn't that punishment enough?
