As well as the headline 0-60mph figure, it will accelerate from 0-100mph in 4.541 seconds.
The previous 0-60mph record was 2.6 seconds, the one for 0-100mph used to 5.3 seconds.
What's more, it also broke the record for braking, stopping from 100mph in 8.861 seconds. The previous record stood at 9.4 seconds.
These three records were held by the British-built Ultima GTR 720, from which the G-Force was developed, which had ousted the Bugatti Veyron from the top slot. The records were certified by the US-based World Records Academy.
The G-Force is the brainchild of US businessman David Bruce McMahan
Heh. Love how the brainchild of an American didn't also shatter the Ultima's skid pad record ("corners? what are those? some kind of pussy yurpeen thing?").

heh. Red Victor One is pretty awesome given that it's essentially a home build. It's pretty famous in UK car circles as is the owner Andy Frost.
Like the OP's car it's not super hot in corners but not too shabby in a straight line. Also being built from a 1970's Vauxhall Victor it is pretty damn cool.

I would probably pee my pants. That is seriously fast (both machines). My Accord's sub 7 seconds is plenty to keep me happy and safe merging onto I-25.

I doubt very much that a car like that can go zero to sixty in 1 second. That's faster than an aircraft being catapulted off an aircraft carrier, and I've actually done that.

I doubt he would claim anything otherwise, so it's fine. It's not like he's a camaro driver thinking he's behind the wheel of a supercar.

Red Victor One's record is well documented. It IS the world's fastest accelerating road legal car. It can be seen (and timed) at many drag meets in the UK during the season. The YouTube vid comes from a mainstream UK TV car show not a home made film.
When you say car like that I assume you mean 35 year old Vauxhall Victor, rather than purpose built drag car.

You can't imagine it, so it must not be possible?

Well, seeing as how I've accelerated faster than that with the aid of steam powered catapults, yes.

It is rather a stretch for that bag of crap to do the 60 in one second though, ain't it?
Didn't McLaren set out to build the fastest, meanest road-going car ever... ....with no price limit? How come they didn't manage a 1 second 60?
Can road-legal tyres actually achieve the adhesion required for a 1 second 60? Can they put the power down without spinning the rear like there's no tomorrow? If so, Brabus should get in touch with this guy to find out how to do it (so they don't have to bother with those pansy traction control systems and all that).

Because he wanted his car to be able to turn.

That is pretty awesome, makes me wonder what it must be like to drive a top-fuel drag racer which goes 0-100mph in 1 second.....

And 0-300mph in under 5.

No it's no stretch at all. McLaren had to build an all purpose car. You know shopping, getting to the south of france and back etc etc etc.
Have you seen the rear tyres on Red Victor. Traction is not a problem. It is after all a drag car firstly. The road legal aspect is really just for laughs and to allow it to run in the road legal classes.
I'm pretty sure Brabus or Bugatti could engineer their cars to do a 1 second 0-60 if they didn't have to worry about service intervals or corners and other trivia like that.
Really this isn't one of those YouTube fantasy posts, this is a real, accredited, drag car. The engineering involved is amazing, especially given that it was all done by one man in a shed in true british style. Calling it a bag of crap rather misses the point.
