I've recently come to like wearing a three-days-beard. I don't know a friend with one, so what I'm asking is how to maintain a steady three days growth?

I razor-shave my head every other day, my facial hair usually daily. So I don't have an electronic shaver, which is most probably exactly what I need, right? I can just not imagine that you can trim your beard with that to, let's say 2mm.

Does this work? If so, which shaver should I get?

I have a beard trimmer and I take off the guard to trim very short. It looks like this:

Yeah, you need a good beard trimmer, and you'd probably set it to the lowest setting (1 or 2).

I keep a three-days beard if I could grow a beard in three days. Or at all.

I haven't found any electric trimmer / shaver that really does 3 days well.

With the trim guards, it typically gives you a 5+days look, w/o the trim guard, it's more like 2 days.

So I'm using my trimmer w/o guard every Monday, by midweek the look is the best.
By the weekend, it already looks a bit long, but Monday is never far

I can't even grow a beard. Best I get is a goatee that doesn't even join at the lips lol.

It takes me two days, actually, to grow a three-day beard, which isn't the slightest better.

I used to exclusively razor-shave, but to keep the 3-day look, I use a cheap beard trimmer that came with my Remington hair clippers. Works wonders.

I have a natural, thick goatee, and nothing else. If I go three days without shaving I look like a dirtbag.

My "three day beard" occurs about two hours after I shave. By bed-time I look like Alan Moore.

My father, who turns 60 this year, has only recently been able to grow respectable facial hair. I blame my genes, although I must say i don't mind not having to shave every day.

I'll still be drinking, mind you, but I certainly won't be honoring my Irish roots the usual way.

You have Irish roots?

You just moved up a notch in my book. That puts you at notch one.
