Hi.
I was just wondering. Does it make any sense to have more than one username on the forum?
Has anyone ever done it?

Is this thread in the right place?
If not, please alert me/move thread to correct forum!

Moving thread to the Lounge, since it's more philosophical than anything else.

Not really, unless you want to distance or disassociate yourself from a previous user name.

Has anyone ever done it?
Yes, many have. One member in particular likes to give running numbers.

Is this thread in the right place?
It is now.

OK. Thanks for helping me get it to the right place.

BTW, this refers to Reader50's post.

Since we’re not allowed to have threads about other members here, I’ll have to use code; but let’s imagine we have a member called CapitalofSenegal. He then makes a second user name, say CapitalofSenegal²; then another one, CapitalofSenegalʒ; then CapitalofSenegal the Fourth; then CapitalofSenegal V; etc.

A running serial number, if you will.

With this particular member, I suspect it has to do with an underdeveloped sense of humour and a somewhat unfortunate inability to distinguish numerals from ezhes.

In general, though, I guess people just think it’s fun to ‘retire’ a user name at a certain post count and then make another one …

I've used only one, just like my grandpappy taught me. It's the only proper way of doing things.

Not that it serves a practical purpose, but I went ahead and made myself one anyway, just for the heck of it. That way, no one can get too annoyed at one account or the other because I have the two of them.

Yes, he spends at least as much time as the writers on Lost keeping it all straight.
