Conclusions:
1-you're not a ninja just because you have the pajamas
2-a sword is not the easiest weapon to menace people with
3-if you act like a dweeb, people will treat you like a dweeb...and actively dis your attempts at armed robbery.
FWIW, that DOES count as 'attempted armed robbery,' and if the guy comes out of his mom's basement dressed that way again, he'll be in real trouble.

Police say a man dressed liked a ninja used a sword in an attempt to rob a Weymouth dry cleaner. According to police, a convenience store clerk called police Monday after she noticed a man walking into the store wearing a ski mask and carrying a sword in a sheath on his belt. When the man noticed her, he pulled his mask off and asked if she was calling about him, police said.
Whoever he is, he forgot the first rule of armed robbery.
