I'm in the middle of the second episode and I feel that the best way to describe the show is "Amy Poehler as Michael Scott."

Thoughts?

You pretty much nailed it. Except it really is "Amy Poehler as Michael Scott, but not quite."

It feels like the sister show to The Office... Are many of the writers and staff the same? It's not only Amy's character, but the entire show seems very much in the Office mold.

It seems like an attempt to recreate the Office feel, but it falls flat for me. I mostly just find Poehler annoying and unfunny.

All glory to the hypnotoad.

Creators Greg Daniels and Mike Schur were/are executive producers for The Office.

I love Amy, but I don't think it's different enough from the Office to have its own life. There are a couple of gems in every episode but not enough that I'd care if it were cancelled.

I don't think they would pull it mid-run but I doubt it will be renewed. On the other hand it's one of those harmless shows that could hang on as long as it's wrapped by better shows.

I barely made it through the first one. It was really, really bad. I see what they are trying to do but it's not working.

You know a show is going to be bad when they promote the tar out of it and then sandwich it between 2 new episodes of The Office. Then you watch it, it sucks, and then you know that NBC knows it sucks.
