Friday I replaced the hard drive in my sister's Macbook - that was the second hard drive to die on her, and getting the new one going was a bear. The computer refused to recognize any OS X DVDs I had, including her original restore discs and the Snow Leopard disk I used to upgrade her a few weeks back. I ended up having to restore an image of the SL DVD onto an 8 gig flash drive and booting/installing from that.

Yesterday we had a "finish the kegs" party (no kegs were finished). I was a bit of a wreck by the end of the night, though. I tried.

Today is for relaxation. I'll probably buy some motorcycles parts online, fiddle with the cafe bike, and watch some Dexter.

I threw a massive party at my new pad with my roommate. Went well, had a lot of girls here. Was a little worried about it since... um... well let's just say if certain people had shown up at the same time, it would have been awkward. Anyway, it went great... for a while. Then friends of friends started showing up, someone threw a can of lighter fluid into the grill and made a fireball like 20 ft high, someone cut down part of my neighbors tree, and then there was a fight behind my house in an alley. Trashy people. Then I kicked some of them out, and this one guy shoved me onto my front lawn, so I pulled my knife out to defend myself... didn't work real well since he was so drunk he didn't care. I wound up locking everyone out and leaving for a few minutes to make people leave.

Then went out to the bars to see a certain girl, and upon leaving, some random drunk asshole shoved HER to the ground. For no reason. Seeing this, and upon just almost knifing someone an hour earlier, I was pissed, but decided to be the better person, and walk away. I stopped my friends from kicking this guys ass, and I stopped myself. We walked away.

About 10 minutes later, walking back past the same place, the SAME random drunk **** jumps me from behind, and tries to strangle me, so I put him in a headlock and threw him into a mailbox. Then I told him to leave, but he wouldn't. I said he had 5 seconds to turn around and walk away... he didn't walk away so I jacked him in the face with my elbow. He fell like a sack of potatoes into some newspaper stands.

What. The. ****.

Oh, and then I went to a party where some girl spilled an entire GALLON of ranch dressing on the floor. Yep. Gallon. Ranch dressing.

I'm going to bed.

I'm a bit excited - going to see "The Shining" at midnight tonight. It's one of my favorite films, perhaps the creepiest to me.

Best horror movie ever.

Mr Grady: "And when my wife tried to prevent me from doing my duties, I ... corrected her."

Saturday night I was at a friends wedding. I come back all drunk at 3am to catch the very beginning of the Shining. Had to stay up and watch the whole thing, very few movies give me chills and the Shining is one of them.

Might as well do all that while sipping a glass of whiskey and smoke a few cigars.

As for me, I'll be playing Borderlands until my eyes bleed, or my girlfriend yells at me.

Jack: "You WERE the caretaker here, Mr. Grady. "
Mr Grady: "No sir, YOU are the caretaker. You've always been the caretaker. I ought to know: I've always been here. "

I've seen it so many times too, yet I can't help but watch it again. Best horror film, no doubt. My best viewing was at around 2am, all alone in a house in the country during a snow storm. But tonight it's the big screen for the first time. Can't wait!

Resting. Work is pretty much full throttle for 5 days, which only leaves Saturday to rest because Sunday is prep day.

Working tomorrow, and have Sunday off, so I'm going to take my 2 new guns to a new shooting range on Sunday, and do some target shooting. My youngest daughter wants to go as well.

What kind are they? I'm looking at getting a new rifle sometime soon, mostly for making one ragged hole in the paper from a long ways off, and I'm torn so far as to what caliber...

Of course having the time between "resting up from the week" and "getting ready for the next week" to actually go punch holes in paper would be a prerequisite for this, but planning is worthwhile in any case.

Not on-call, kids not coughing as much, no rain predicted = road trip into the Pyrenees.

Once children are tucked up, I shall slay as many infidels as possible with my Modern Warfare 2 skillzzzzzzz.

I shall unfortunately be attending the funeral of a mutual friend. Poor woman was diagnosed with liver cancer a month and a half a ago, now she's dead. She appeared perfectly healthy two months ago. I imagine I'll be doing some drinking as well.
