I thought there was a thread already about this, but the search function failed me.
Does anyone here watch it? I am a fan, and try to watch it every chance I get. I think it is great that Spike has been playing older fights, there are a lot of them that I did not see and it gives me a chance to do so.
I am beginning the Evans vs. Machida fight right now. I am really looking forward to UFC 100.
Lesnar is a freak of a beast, but Mir is straight up badass.
GSP will most likely take down Alves in the first round.
Bisbing will most likely win as well. Another badass guy.
The Coleman/Bonnar fight should be really interesting.
Jon Jones, hands down one of my favorite up and coming fighters. He is absolutely amazing, and most likely will hold the belt for his weight class.

Franklin vs. Silva looks to be an interesting match up. Not much else on the card I'm really excited about to be honest. Hughes should retire having beat (if you call it that) Serra. Kimbo on the TUF show will be short lived hype. Lets see if he even makes it into the house.

I'd like to see Brock Lesnar learn how to fight. He barely won out sheer bullheadedness.

UFC is about the only thing that my father-in-law and I have in common, and we watch either the live shows or a DVD of one almost every time my wife and I go to visit them. We love it.
I remember the early days, watching Gracie dominate and being terrified of Dan Severn's mustache.
My hope is that Lesnar gets smacked around so badly that he resembles the state he was in after botching the shooting star press at Wrestlemania.

Severn is awesome. The only true Greco-Roman wrestler to make it the top. He truly was a beast, and I don't mean his hair.
I was a little disappointed with the exhibition match between Gracie and Hughes. I think part of it is that the refs are so quick to stop the match (and for good reason), but Royce was different. He could take a pounding for 30 minutes straight, then pull off the win in the last minute or two. That's how he worked, he just waited for the opportune moment to strike. I don't think his usual fighting style works with the new rules. I'd like to see a rematch. I think that Hughes was gonna tire himself out with all that sloppy punching, then BAM, he's tapping out.
What was crazy was watching Hughes bend Gracie's arm a good 15 degrees the wrong direction, and Gracie doesn't even flinch. Completely past the point that absolutely ANY other person would have tapped out, he just waited. Then Royce just bent and twisted in some weird fashion and it popped back into a normal position he snaked out of the arm bar.
I think what was funny was the crowd's reaction to Royce's arm as the camera zoomed in and it was up on the big screen. Wasn't a single person who wasn't cringing.

Yeah...the Hughes/Gracie fight was incredibly disappointing for me, since Gracie (and the memory of the early days) will always have a special significance. The arm-bar moment was memorable though, to say the least.

I think every Tapout t-shirt and sticker could be replaced with one that said "Douche bag" and none of them would be inaccurate.

Agreed.
UFC is pretty overrated and irrelevant to me. Oh well. I'm sure some of the things I enjoy are overrated and irrelevant to others too.

Ultimate Fighter 10 is coming up. The competition looks decent. Kimbo Slice is participating. It will be interesting to see what he does when the fight goes to the ground.
I also may be flying to Vegas for the Lesnar/Carwin fight. Still haven't hammered out the details yet.

Same here. I am hoping to be there live. Which reminds me that I have some phone calls to make.
Also, the forum wouldn't let me use UFC for the thread title.

Shock and surprise!
I was wondering why Machida wasn't doing anything in that final round - taking no chances, just cruising through - and then I found out he'd already paid off the judges.

I think Machida's rib was broken or cracked in the first round. From there on he just had to play it safe. In a close fight, the judges will side with the champ.

Lesnar is not fighting Carwin at 106 due to an illness on Lesnar's part. Griffin and Ortiz will be headlining.
I am glad I didn't get tickets.

The first UFC night on Versus was Sunday. Some good fights overall. Oddly, Clay Guida was on the undercard. While he is not a title contender, he is wildly popular.
Jones vs Vera was good. Vera ended up with three broken bones in his face. A few more fights, and Jones will be a title contender. I don't think he is quite ready yet, but I hope Machida still has the belt when he is. They both have styles different from anyone else. It could be an epic fight.

Looking forward to Saturday. Hardy's talked a lot of trash, so will be interesting to see what he brings to the ring. GSP's just too classy, but I wish he would just rub it in real good....

IMO, Hardy doesn't stand a chance against GSP. GSP is just too damn well rounded and excels everywhere. I look forward to the fight as well as the Mir/Carwin fight. Sadly, I won't be watching it live since I will be at the Lagunitas Brewery.

Anyone watching this tonight? Who are your picks? Lawlor/McGee/Gonzaga/Hamill/Sanchez/Shields/Valasquez are my picks. Don't care much for the undercard except I hope Sam Stout wins.

I would love to see Brock get his ass kicked, but I don't think that's going to happen.
(And no, I can't justify plopping down $45 for these..)
