Golf or poker on TV. Take your pick. I really don't see the need for either one.

All of them. That is if you're talking about watching, and not participating.

I enjoy swimming, target shooting/skeet, driving

Not the same. Take a look at the size of the table in snooker. Huge.

I'd agree with this. I'll play anything, but you'll never catch me watching any sports at all.

This only makes your choice of an obscure sport all the more confusing.

How can anyone not choose cricket; it's like baseball without all the exciting base-running stuff.

I couldn't agree more. I find watching sports on TV is like watching paint dry. I don't mind watching them live so much, but watching them on the idiot box seems a huge waste of time to me. One in a while I might watch a hockey game, but event then it'd just be a couple a season and only if there is nothing else on.
I would say the most boring would be that Canadian game with the big rock and the brooms.

I voted for snooker, because I have absolutely no clue what it is and don't have the .38 seconds needed to do a Google search.

I think the most boring sport would have to actually be a sport, so golf and poker are both out.

So, American Football is more boring than Snooker, Cricket, or Darts? Typical.

I voted for Cricket. It's a nightmare to watch and almost as painful to play.

Oh come on now, that's just silly. Poker's definitely not a sport, but golf does require an impressive combination of mental and physical skills.

So do hacky-sack and Jenga, but I don't see anybody trying to pretend like those are sports.

You seem to be mistaken. Miniature golf is more of a sport than real golf. It has (more complicated) obstacles, distractions, and precision timing, whereas regular golf has polo shirts, cleats so you don't slip on your ass and visors for no reason.

I would watch darts or bowling over baseball any day though. I really just don't get the immense amount of time people spend watching sports. And I doubly don't understand the loyalty that some people show to a team whose members aren't even from their state.

...but it also doesn't have 50-year chip shots through trees, taken from the rough.

Again, just silly. I don't golf much, but even so I recognize the great combination of mental and physical skill it takes to play the game at a high level. When your movements are measured in fractions of an inch in order to hit the perfect shot, how can it not be considered a sport? When some of the greatest pro athletes on the planet obsessively play it and still can't compete at a professional level, how can it not be considered a sport?

Golf is a sport. Also, driving a racecar, at high speed, in ANY racing series, is a sport.

I used to play and watch baseball when I was a kid, but I can't stand watching it now. But give me 9 innings of whoever over 1 hour of a soccer match!

So the fact that it's something many competent athletes can't do proves it's a sport? By that measure, Bayesian mathematics is probably the world's ultimate sport.

Baseball, clearly. Went to one game which lasted over 5 hours. You didn't watch the game, you were chatting with friends, went to take some food and when something happened, I missed it, because I was talking …

(Golf doesn't count: Golf is not a sport, it's a hobby )
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
