Astronauts and Antarctic researchers are illegally watching DVDs

It just occurred to me that since Astronauts are in space and Antarctic researchers are on a continent with no region, they're illegally watching movies no matter what movie they watch. There's no DVD region for the Antarctic continent or for outer space.
So I guess they're Ice Pirates and Space Pirates. Cool.

As long as you have a player with the correct region and it's legal to have such a player where you are, you're legally OK. Although I'm sure the content owners are working to rectify that right now.

I caught that too, with last week's announcement. I'd guess that the copyright holders gave the astronauts permission (I know in one case they actually sent the DVD with the intent of having it uploaded to the ISS).
