Army Mechanic's Garage Tinkering Yields 18-Foot Mecha Exoskeleton | Popular Science

Pretty nifty. He is already in the process of making another one. It would be interesting to see these things on job sites.

The first application he has in mind: mecha-vs.-mecha battles, demolition-derby style.
What a pansy. That should read more like:

The first application he has in mind: crushing his enemies under his mighty steel.

You guys should google Robocup Soccer (Football) and Robocup Sumo.

Check out the maneuverability on those little Robots. The mechanics should translate to larger robots, but you'd need new materials that can withstand the stress.
