Anyone recall the name of the theory that states technology advances so fast everything is outdated once you purchase it?

Or

I have heard it along the lines of technology of technology advancing so fast it doubles every 7 years or so?

Any help is greatly appreciated - Thank You

No, Roger Moore. Or was that Gordon and Betty Moore.

Either way, it would be amazing if everything in life adhered to this law.
