Not to sound like a prick, but some people take sports WAY to gd seriously. I almost murdered 47 people last night for excessive annoyance. For as much background as you need, I live in Louisiana. I know, you already feel sorry for me. But it's an extra kinda special circle of hell whenever the gods (LSU sports teams) are involved in any sort of championship. Apparently, LSU's baseball team went to some sort of playoff thing recently. Anyway, normally, no one around here gives to shits about baseball, but when they're winning something "important", everyone is magically transformed into a HUGE baseball fan (sidenote: baseball sucks). It's beyond retarded, but whatever. I like the movie Roadhouse. We all have (what should be) guilty pleasures. Seriously, every business contact I have, every freaking vendor and shop here in town has effectively shutdown to observe, celebrate and recover. Not sharing this sentiment can lead to severe bodily harm and/or possibly death. When people slur to me "You're not a FAN!... *vomit* WHOOO! You wouldn't understaaaaaand!" I just have to shake my head and think to myself "oh, I get it, buddy. I understand completely."

No, I don't get it either.
It's soccer here. Quite why grown men get excited about watching 22 other grown men kicking a pig's bladder around a field is beyond me.
Beach volleyball, on the other hand... ...well, I can get behind that.

Pooka, anytime you think you have it bad just remember I can go to any event around here (doesn't even need to be a sporting event) and hear hundreds of people chanting "Yankees Suck."

I think it was the three years I spent in Massachusetts that turned me from being completley disinterested in sports to an actual sports fan. I just love to watch the Red Sox [fans] lose!
