Yes, I know. So, maybe "confirm" is the wrong word but you get what I mean.

Celebrity deaths ALWAYS HAPPEN IN THREES! Ed, Farrah, Michael!

What is up with that?

He was one of the best entertainers in history at his prime. He really should have gone out in a literal blaze of glory (i.e. the Pepsi commercial) 20 years ago instead of becoming a strange white woman.

Alternatively we can cling to the theory that the real MJ was abducted by aliens and that fake, strange Jackson DNA-clone derivative was left in his place. That would explain the bizarre transformation.

Goodbye, Michael.

I'm sad. I always hoped he'd wake up-maybe like Ozzie after his ATV accident, when they found out his personal doctor had him doped up for years-and get back to singing and dancing. Damn.

By the way, Michael was only about 8 months older than me. This kind of shakes me; unless they're notably ill (like Farrah), only OLD celebrities die, right? Crap!

I should also mention that almost everyone dies of "cardiac arrest," which is simply "his heart stopped." The real cause of death is WHY his heart stopped, which I am anxious to learn.

I would like to predict his heart stopped because of some internal or external force acted upon it to prevent it from working any longer. This may include but not limited to: heart disease, drugs, angels, satan, demons, medication error/overdose, idiopathic reasons.

To paraphrase Al Sharpton: "No controversy will erase the historic and cultural impact."

Sad to see a troubled entertainer go, but his legacy will be his music.

I heard that he did a spin, kicked out his leg, grabbed his crotch, said "Ow", and fell over.

If you want to be funny, at least be funny:

Cause of MJ's death?
a) Sunshine?
b) Moonlight?
c) Good times?
d) Boogie.

Never validated.

The first time was questionable, the second was just a money grab.

I was basing that on the rumors that he's been abusing painkillers for quite some time, but those are just rumors so who knows?

Now I've read another "rumor" that he had a successful rehearsal of his show last and was really excited, and "not depressed" at all. So now I have no clue what to think.

AHA! so THAT'S why you take it all personal when people make posts about "old" people- you just turned 50.

well, happy birthday i guess.

on topic: it's sad to see MJ go, but he was at a point in his life where he was only tarnishing his legacy. see: james dean vs. brando.

Yes, I'm newly 50, but I can't even see "old" with binoculars on a clear day. It's just that having someone near your own age kick off for no apparent reason is unnerving.

On iTunes, 45 of the top 100 songs are Michael Jackson, Jackson 5, or the Jacksons'.

Attention stock holders.

I'm thinking wait about three weeks, then take out Madonna. Then another three and take out, oh, maybe David Bowie, and on and on.

I'm not terribly sad.

And really people, 2 days ago you'd rejoice in thread-crapping with freaky MJ pictures and making fun of him.

His family has decided to have his body melted and turned into toys. It will give kids the chance to play with him for a change...or was it that they were melting him down into cups so that kids could still get their lips around his rim?

Pretty sad about the whole thing, and the state of mind he must have been in when he passed away(exploited by the media, constant ridicule, etc). I mean he pretty much lived for his fans and to perform, what with not knowing(or afforded) a normal life and all.

Despite what may or may not have been true about his personal life, he made some significant contributions professionally, for which i am grateful.

Cheers

If there's any upside to his death it's that it's much more enjoyable going out now. I love to be startin' somethin' and then blaming it on the boogie!
