I'm sad. He was indeed one of the very greatest journalists, in part because he was so accessible. His writing and announcing were so personal and friendly that you cared about what he said. That's one reason I jokingly fuss about "not having my flying car yet." Walter hosted "In The 21st Century," a future vision program that, among other things, suggested that the technology to have us all flying over traffic jams was "just around the corner."

I miss you Walter. And that's the way it is...
