I can't for the life of me find a nice, bland, official, unoriginal "Follow Us/Me on Twitter icon" on the Twitter website. Why not? Am I missing something? I don't like the unofficial icons, I just want something plainly recognizable.

Maybe they're sick of hearing about Twitter and don't want to feed the problem.

I think the one that I've used on our website is pretty nice. iStockphoto has that and some other good ones.

There is no official icon because they don't want you using their logo.

You know what? I'm a little tired of these snarky, "your question is idiotic and your concerns are worthless" responses. Why don't you go jump in a lake?

Ah! Now there's an intelligent response.

Not sure why you quoted me or posted that here. Neither of those sentiments are conveyed by my post. It was simply a joke related to the excessive popularity of Twitter.

I must have misunderstood you. My apologies. I figured you were saying, "Why are you even bothering with Twitter?" which would have been annoying if that's what you meant.

I misunderstood your original post. At first, I though "why no official icon from whom? MacNN?" But from context it seems you're wondering why Twitter themselves don't have an official icon. That's a very good question, in light of the fact that they really do want to spread themselves and thus make more advertising money...

That's correct, I'm wondering why Twitter itself seems not to have an official icon for folks to use on their websites.

After all, Facebook has one.

Those are nice!

Of course, what's even more impressive is just how many social networking sites have cropped up in the last few years...
For all the trash I talk, I sure own a lot of Macs...
