I spy a roof scoop and a roll cage.

Any chance we can get a link to higher resolution versions? I'm especially interested in the shots of the Lancer(s).

Any spectators get run over this year?
"You develop an instant global consciousness, a people orientation, an intense dissatisfaction
with the state of the world, and a compulsion to do something about it. From out there on the
moon, international politics look so petty. You want to grab a politician by the scruff of the
neck and drag him a quarter of a million miles out and say, 'Look at that, you son of a bitch.'"

Yeah, the Capri was easily the most amazing car competing. Full coilovers, endless brakes, massive skidplates, and some euro cosworth engine. Totally nuts, and full rally gear inside. Suffered a little battle damage when the driver lost it into the woods, but not bad. Since he was going to lose he stopped in the spectator area and did a massive burnout. Pretty awesome!

And sorry, those are about the max res. None of my friends know how to take decent pictures, so that's all you get. Good news is I have 20 gigs of 1080 footage that I'm editing this week to throw up, so I'll post that when it's done.

Looks like an awesome time. I hope to go to a rally some day. It seems like it's picking up in the US (thanks to Ken Block maybe?).

Maybe. I think it's just more of the "younger" generation becoming adults. People 15-30 didn't really grow up watching nascar, they grew up playing gran turismo, watching WRC, and cars that turn both directions.

Those cars don't look very good, and definitely not very fast.

Fast shutter speeds will do that. Of course this sort of rally is SUPPOSED to generate tons of muck and turn all the cars yucky brown-which is part of the fun, I think.

Pretty cool rally, Rob. Thanks for sharing.

Hehe, I like how you specify there is no terrible mis-matched music to the video, something 99% of youtube uploaders could learn from you.

I had some hybrid under it at one point, but I liked hearing the cars more.
