Hi all (especially the Aussies),

Me and my girlfriend will be traveling from Saudi Arabia to Australia through Kuala Lumpur in 10 days to spend a few days in Sydney and go to a Pearl Jam concert in Brisbane. With roughly 10 days in Australia total I would love to have a local prepaid number in my iPhone to be able to use Google maps while walking about the unknown-to-me streets of Sydney and Brisbane.

So, my question is; what is the best mobile network when it comes to usage on the iPhone 3G with cost and coverage in mind?

And while I am at it... any off the beaten track suggestions for things to do or see in the two cities?

Thanks!

Tobbi G.

Somewhat offtopic: Does Mobily sell unlocked phones or did you go the jailbreak/unlock route?

Yup, as per Apple, all iPhones sold by Mobily are factory unlocked. It has also been confirmed by some users on SaudiMac.

Go for Optus prepaid. Probably your cheapest and best option.
