I haven't seen Christmas Carol, but as soon as I saw the Christmas Carol trailer, I was reminded of Beowulf. Then I discovered it's the same director and same CG company. It's almost as if they just recycled the CG models.
The trailer has some of the hollow creepiness of The Polar Express too... which also happens to be the same CG company as well.
Whatever they're doing (performance capture?), I'm definitely not liking the look much.

Disney movie? The owners of Pixar? WTH was Pixar purchased for? To give them free reign over their own slow schedule and proven style? Not very Disney-y at all.

"...Then I discovered..." and " ... some of the creepiness... "? in all the trailers; it says from the makers of The Polar Express. they are telling you it will be like/similar in appearence to their other movies right from the get go.

Yeah, I noticed that later. I wasn't listening initially. I just saw the visuals.
Then again, Pixar's Incredibles didn't look like Monsters, Inc. IMHO.
BTW, they spent $200 million on this movie? They're gonna have a tough time breaking even (at least domestically) methinks, considering it's made less than $50 million so far.

The second I saw the trailer, I knew I was going to stay far, far, far away from this horror. Jim Carey in multiple roles, while turning a great story into a big, loud mix of tired slapstick and worse dialog? All while romping through Uncanny Valley? That pretty much says "Do Not Touch" to me.

There was actually no tired slapstick, and the dialog was pretty much straight out of the book. I thought it was a pretty good representation of Dickens' story. I don't know the reference to "Uncanny Valley" but overall, I liked the movie quite a bit.

Not my fave movie, but I didn't hate it either. I liked it more than The Polar Express for sure. However, I liked the look of the faces of neither movie.
