USAA has done it again: Deposit@Mobile.

Take a pic of your check- front and back - with iPhone app, and it gets deposited ASAP.

I freaking love USAA.

I'm starting to warm to USAA, especially since I found out why so many of their corporate policies started changing in 1996-that's when one CEO retired and another took over, and the old "anti-enlisted" policies just started melting away...

And since they're headquartered here in San Antonio, I'd heard about the app when they field tested it. Really cool.

My experience with USAA has been nothing but great.

And you can't beat their insurance.

I once talked to an insurance sales guy, and he asked me who I was with. I said "USAA".
His reply: Well, sorry, we can't beat that. He didn't even try.

This is pretty old news. I've been doing it for several months now, at the very least.

USAA offers checking and other banking to anyone, but the deposit by phone (or with a scanner and a computer) feature is, I believe, only available to full USAA members with at least one insurance policy through the company.
For all the trash I talk, I sure own a lot of Macs...

You need either their insurance or their credit card.

I've been using this since I got my iPhone, and it's great. More innovation out of this one company than from the entire banking sector in the last 15 years.

Does it save the pictures to the camera roll? I'm not sure that's something I'd want sitting around on my phone.

I'll probably switch my auto insurance to USAA since my State Farm car insurance went up by 25% and they can't explain why, besides saying it's theft prevention. No wrecks, tickets or anything.

No, they don't. The photos are taken within the usaa app itself, and there's not an option to load a picture from the camera roll either.

That's good.

Now if only Apple will add a camera to the iPod touch
