I'm in love with this band!

Lala - Where music plays

RH = Roy Hargrove, who is a jazz trumpet player, but this music is very, very undefinable. It is heavily influenced by hip hop, rap, pop, R&B, funk, and jazz (contemporary and "smooth"). The jazz component consists of brief collective and individual improvisations matched with a far more R&B/pop sort aesthetic. Start by clicking on "A Place", for instance (you don't need an account to play the audio here)...

Many of these tracks feature vocals, and all sorts of other instruments. There is a tremendous amount of depth to these compositions and this band. Each track is different. "Distractions 4", for instance, is far more of a jazz/funk/groove sort of thing than A Place. Some tracks are little hard to describe, such as "Can't Stop". "Crazy Race" is kind of a mix of jazz vocals with hip hop.

It's all quite good though. This band has recorded three albums, this is their latest. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have! Roy Hargrove is definitely a tremendous musician.
