It's not what you'd call "current," but I always thought it was a great song. Carny made being plus-sized look good, and Wendy and Chynna were hot-then and now. It's also a nice, positive, uplifting song.

But I'll bet our friends that aren't in the US can't see the YouTube video because of those stuffy RIAA guys and distribution agreements and such.

Nothing justifies or excuses being a jack ass in a post, no matter who it is that is posting. Ever. Period. If it was me posting, or someone we banned for being a horrible ass, it doesn't matter; nobody is justified in behaving that way here, ever. If that were the case, wouldn't that mean that anyone would be able to justify being rude to anyone at any time? Our formal policy is "polite and civil, always." Otherwise people get infractions or worse for such inappropriate posts.

Assigning an evil motive to someone posting what is a silly and frivolous subject is really illogical. It's silly, it's frivolous, and by going to all the trouble to ponder, decide it was done to annoy you, and come up with all sorts of justifications for being rude, you've not only used up lots of time, you've given the OP some control over you. Is that what you intended? To let Rob decide what you were going to spend your time on? I don't think so.

First of all, this is correct. I don't claim to have excuses, and I don't claim that I don't deserve an "infraction." But I meant every word, and sometimes it's worth getting "infractions" to make your point heard. I won't do it again, I've said my piece.

In most cases this is true. If a minor thing annoys you for no compelling or material reason, it's most economical and practical to simply let sleeping dogs lie. I have certainly raised my own blood pressure more due to this thread than the OP has in this thread. But what is your advice for someone like me who makes a conscious decision to ignore the silly and frivolous, when the silly and frivolous goes out of its way to make ignoring it impossible?

Of course you can. You open the thread, you see it’s not for you, you leave the thread and ignore it from then on.

Ignore = willfully not pay attention to. Doesn’t mean that once you’ve seen it, it’s permanently unignorable.

And there’s always the ‘ignore’ button, which would take care of the problem quite easily.

It's funny you should mention that for one of the few posters here who changes usernames more often than he changes undergarments.
