The games have been good so far. I don't follow the NBA much during the regular season, but working at a sports bar, I have a general idea.

Pick for the East: Cavs
Pick for the West: Lakers

Pick for the championship: Cavs

LA all the way. I wish the bulls weren't playing the Cavs in the first round, but they're young, they'll be back.

My interest in the NBA finally waned this year. Probably because my team sucks and could barely get on national tv when it was good.

I wish they would just decide the whole thing with a slam-dunk contest.

I just want one Bucks win. ONE. Is that too much to ask for? Of course we scramble and do everything we can to make it into the playoffs and BOOM, Bogut goes down. It couldn't have happened to the Lakers or the Celtics or the Cavs, teams that have enough talent that they can afford to take a hit. I really thought we had a chance at making some noise in the playoffs this year too. I was seeing a 1st round win and giving a team a good run in the 2nd round. Now we're going to be lucky if we can squeeze off one win. :/

East Pick: Cavs
West Pick: Dallas

Championship: Dallas

Guess I'll move on from the NBA and watch the Brewers give up seven runs a game for the next five months.

sdilley...you jinxed us earlier in the thread!

It's a tough night for us Mavs fans. First, we go down in the first round...again. Then Dirk says in the press conference afterwards that he's going to consider his option to become a free agent this summer.............

I really don't know what to say.

I'm just as shocked as you are. That seems to be the Mavericks in a nutshell though. They have world class talent, perform wonderfully in the regular season, show glimpses of greatness in the playoffs (at times), but just always fall short. On Mike and Mike this morning they compared Dirk and the Mavs to Donovan McNabb and the Eagles, which I think is a spot on comparison. Its a bummer, I've always kinda liked the Mavs.

I'm a fan of all three Texas teams, but I've loved the Mavs forever. The McNabb/Dirk Eagles/Mavs comparison makes sense on several levels. The sad thing is that I can't place what it was that kept Dallas down.

I really do believe that if they'd made the move to match Phoenix's offer for Nash, and then added one more quality free agent or trade, they'd have won a championship. I also don't think their coaching has ever been first-class. Pop is definitely a beast of a coach though; probably has a lot to do with the Spurs' playoff success.

Anyhoo, congrats on the win. I wouldn't mind if the Spurs went all the way through, actually. It'd be a nice story.

Things you need to win in NBA:

Backcourt star
Frontcourt defence

Mavs fail

So we have:

Lakers vs Jazz
Suns vs Spurs
Cavs vs Celtics
Hawks vs Bobcats

I think the Cavs/Celtics game is going to be really good and may go all seven games. The Lakers/Jazz will probably go seven as well. Not sure about the other two.

I think the Bobcats will overcome elimination to claim the title.

Lakers > Jazz in 5
Suns > Spurs in 7
Cavs > Celts in 6
Magic > Hawks in 6

Lakers > Suns in 6
Cavs > Magic in 7

Cavs > Lakers in 7

If I'm right on all of these, you all must change your 'NN handles to variations of "JawbonesHo."

I'd say Clint Howard is marginally better looking, if only because he's better groomed.

Lakers should win today... I can't believe Kobe was sleeping on that last play of game 3 (it was his man who tipped Williams' shot).

That depends. Going in, the odds would have been pretty high against a sweep. By the second game, they'd have been fair. Just before the game last night, I'll bet they were even.

It's pretty sad for the home town folks, but how many other teams have gotten to the playoffs-and the second round at that-so often?

Nasty might be a bit goofy looking, but at least he's a really sharp dresser!

All the other clowns pictures, very good choices for ugliest in the league. Sam is definitely in the running for ugliest in league history.
