Surgeon Stealing Sedatives 'Accidentally' Cuts Off Man's Testicle

A U.K. surgeon performing a procedure to remove a testicular cyst accidentally cut off a patient’s entire testicle after injecting himself with stolen sedative medication, the BBC reported.
Dr. Sulieman Al Hourani of Fairfield General Hospital in Bury, Greater Manchester, allegedly injected himself with sedative medication intended for the patient before surgery. A nurse assisting Al Hourani during the operation was retrieving surgical materials when the doctor cut off the testicle.
"Literally as the nurse turned away to get a transfixion stitch, the incident occurred and the testicle was removed,” said Sarah Prichard, the hospital’s attorney.
Al Hourani is being charged with misconduct and stealing medication.
