As some may already know, he was recently cut from the Raiders after only playing a mere 31 games in his three year career. He was the #1 overall draft pick and know is known as the #1 overall draft bust.

Here is Cracked's take on it.

Funny. The unfortunate thing is that I can see the Bills taking a shot at him. The Bills quarterbacks all suck right now. If they sign Russell, he would instantly become the Bills best two quarterbacks.

(I was about to dispute your assertion that Russell was the biggest #1 overall draft bust, then I looked it up and saw that Ryan Leaf was drafted #2, after Peyton Manning. Boy, the colts dodged a bullet there....)

What took Oakland so long to release him? My gosh.

Even as a die-hard LSU fan, I knew he'd be a bust. He had enormous athletic potential, but his judgment was always off. I never felt 100% comfortable while he was QBing the purple and gold.

Holding out for more money going into his rookie season was ridiculous, especially considering what he was already being offered. I sure hope those millions are enough to last him for a while.

Nice, fun article, BTW. Loved this:

JaMarcus Russell is so fat that his offensive linemen don't exactly form a pocket around him so much as gravitationally fall into orbit.

That is the (multi)million dollar question.
