He was commenting on the length, not the absence. You'd know that if you ever here any more.

That's what she said?

Hmmm...

Give it some time. It picks up about halfway through Season 1.

[EDIT] It's one of those shows that doesn't have unbelievable acting (although the guy who plays Sheldon is really good), and it incorporates a lot of sitcom clich├ęs, but you realize you've somehow become addicted to it after you finish 8 shows in a row before finally going to sleep.

Finished the first two discs. I was enjoying it in the beginning before it started to become a Ross/Rachel thing and she wasn't saying "sweety" so much.

Also, I really hate turtlenecks.

The laugh track is annoying. Yes, I understand where the jokes are, you don't need to tell me. And no, someone walking into the room with a funny look on his face isn't a joke. Who do you think you are, Kramer?

I'm trying to remain spoiler-free, but this isn't a problem forever.

Also, I really hate turtlenecks.
You won't mind them quite as bad after Leonard's birthday party.

It's too late. The dynamic is there. They could start dating or find someone else, but either way its gonna feel similar. (And god help me if they do a get together and break-up)

While you mention it, they blatantly rip off the "coffee isn't really coffee" joke from Seinfeld.

Like I said, the show isn't incredible, but I get cheap enjoyment out of it, and I'm going to keep going back.

Agreed times one million.

I can't watch any shows with a laughtrack, except Seinfeld reruns. Coincidentally the funniest shows on TV never had them to being with (Simpsons, Futurama, Venture Brothers, Always Sunny, etc). It's like they want to trick you to laugh at something that isn't funny. It's like, "See, other people are laughing, shouldn't you be too?"

I have to wonder if that's part of my prejudice against network tv.

It's cute, but getting repetitive. I do enjoy seeing Darlene on there though.

Agreed. I can't watch anything with a laugh track either. My reasoning: the intended audience needs to be told when something is funny. I don't fit the intended audience, and do not want to fit.

I never knew that Dakar laughed.
Yes, clearly a light hearted joke is the entire problem here. Not the narcissistic ego bukake that is the lounge.

I watched Everybody Loves Raymond yesterday, for the first time I actually enjoyed the show.
Usually I feel the need to exterminate the wife or Ray like vermin. Seriously, the wife is a bitch and Ray is half a man. Speaking of a bitch and half a man, we're talking about the French now.

Every year Seinfeld's hair looks worse and worse. I cringe for the day it reaches Welcome Back Potter levels of dating.

The other Potter. I thought it was a new Harry Potter... Yo, yo yo - Mr. Pot-ter.

THAT was an awful show, though I watched it religiously as a kid.

I've saw tons of M*A*S*H reruns growing up... Never bothered with Harry Potter, which is a small miracle given an ex's enthusiasm for the series.

There are a few really bad spinoffs out there - remember Delta House? It spawned from the loin of Animal House, though I think it came from the other end.
