Thought we could get to know each other a bit more.

On Saturday I taught my kid to ride his bike without training wheels.

Just one? Pick your favorite.

- Installed steering head bearings, front wheel bearings, and rear brake shoes on one of the bikes, rides like new
- Finished assembling and installing my upgraded speedometer in another bike
- Cleaned up and took some pics of a third bike for CraigsList
- Designed, built, and carpeted a sub box
- Went jet-skiing

Had a barbecue. But first, had my first live run-in with a Black Widow spider. She had set up shop in the part of the grill where the gas tank is stored.

Installed outdoor speakers for the back patio (although technically this is tangentially related to Apple as an Airport Express will be streaming music to those speakers).

Reversed the doors on the refrigerator in the kitchen. Been wanting to do that since we moved into the house.

Attended the Mets' 4-game series against the Washington Nationals. Rolled my eyes at ignorant Strasburg-bandwagoning Nationals fans.

Hope you won and the spider lost.

How did you deal with the spider?

My mother visited me this weekend and I took her out to see our city's fireworks display. She was suitably impressed.

I got the laundry done, too.

The spider did, indeed, lose.

I was going out to light the grill so I had the lighter with me, along with some flammable grill spray. A quick homemade flamethrower solved the problem nicely.

As I was climbing off of the jet ski this weekend, I felt something on my leg. A spider approximately 3/4"-1" in legspan was crawling up my leg. I reached down and flicked it off, and it exploded when it hit the floor board.

Laid on the grass by the Hudson river, then got drunk, watched fireworks, had sex, watched movies.

It was not a very productive weekend.

Wasted $1 at Redbox to rent Avatar (yes...we were the last people in the US to have not seen it) I'm glad it was only a dollar.

Funny, we saw it last weekend, thought we were the last!

I didn't know black widows lived in Georgia.

I thought the pre-release thread made it obvious a certain segment of the population had no interest in seeing this?

I had heard people reference running into them now and then, but I'd never seen one before Sunday. Really threw me for a loop seeing that bright red hourglass shape.

Got way to drunk on the 3rd, g/f drove me home whilst I pawed at her the whole time. Woke up in my pants and did it all over again the next day!

This weekend marked the first showing of the finished Library/Media Room/Projector Room that I have been spending my free weekends working on. Everyone was mighty impressed, and the BD rip of Independence Day looked fantastic, though I had to be carted home before I could enjoy watching it.

Things we played at 92"

MW2
Halo 3
Portal
Doom 2
Super Metroid
Wii
NES Mario Brothers

Honestly, even with all the 8-bit media, the Wii looked the worst by far.

I kinda lost interest and went wandering around the multiplex, then finally ended up in the parking lot talking to a guy about his Audi R8.

I vacuumed. Then we had friends over and we grilled-but it was too yucky out, so we grilled on an electric grill. Roasted corn and hot dogs for the Fourth!

Re-wired my two aquariums so that they both have their own power system, rather than piggy backing off each other.

Wiring looks much cleaning now

Also, bought an albino and an emerald cory cat for the smaller tank; along with a volcano bubbler for more oxygenation.
