The precursor of the first 5 weeks of American Idol every season. Pitiful.

Ouch, my ears. Reminds me of why I never watch American Idol.

That last made the rounds with that vid of Sarah Palin playing that Heygood Hardy song on the flute.

Yeah, it's out of tune. That happens easily, especially with tape playback. Six years of middle- and high-school band means I've heard a lot worse, on a daily basis, over years.

Much better: Van Halen's "Jump" performed with the keyboard intro/solo running at the wrong sample rate:

Wow, that's tough. Especially for pros.

No, not really. Brass Romance is much more enjoyable to listen to (although they could upgrade on the Tuba player) than the Star Wars Trumpet Girl.

Yes, but Star Wars Trumpet Girl was never intended to be enjoyable to listen to

Being pros, they had no choice but to pull through. They transposed everything they played up by a half-note on the fly, but IIRC when you play a 44.1 kHz track back at 48 kHz, as their poor sod of an ex-technician did, it's pitched up by something like a note and a quarter.

No chance.
