I gotta ask this cause this is always interesting to hear... Are you a big jazz fan, and what period of Miles appeals to you the most?

Yes, I'm a fairly big jazz fan. My tastes run more to the bop era, so I'm not as educated about his electric/fusion period. I'm exploring it a bit more, though. Oddly, though I grew-up thoroughly drenched in rock and funk of the 60's and 70's, Miles' electric stuff is a bit hard to get into for me. Part of that may also be that the friend who turned me on to jazz utterly hated fusion. He was a huge Ellington man, though, so it's all good.

Any Henry Rollins fans here? I was impressed at his last show I saw, and I remember being impressed with his musical knowledge at the time, but this was definitely reaffirmed with this piece and his obvious knowledge of so many jazz musicians and Miles' career.
