New ads showing the virtues, power of OSX, how it is best for creative activities and managing your digital life, how it is the only polished UNIX experience, and how it exploits the FLOPS of GPUs, all while not <gerund> <anatomy part, plural> like Ballmer OS does.
Has anybody watched any of that?

Didn't like it? How would you design the perfect Macintosh commercial for these times?

+1 However, the iPhone adds really appeal to the Dear Wife. I have been to my local Apple Store 3X in the last 10 days. NEVER in the many years it has been open have I seen lines like this year. I'm not talking about the iPhone or iPad. I'm talking about MacBooks and MacBook Pros. Especially the 13" Pro. They have pathways set up, and only let one in for one out.

IMO, 2010 is the year of the Apple Notebook. The Best Buy down the mall had a pittance of lookers at Win Notebooks.

Simply blow away watching today for 10 min.

So are there new ads or are you talking about what you want to see?

Personally I want to see an ad for an expandable Mac that is also affordable. That would be sweet.

Iguess you're a pretty big mac fan when you want to talk about the commercials.

Personally the less commercials about anything I know about, the better.

OK, so there's these 2 guys, one wears a suit and the other is a cool guy wearing casual stuff...

Look after my manor, or I will bum you, literally, to death.

Every time you buy a PC, God kills a kitten. Buy a Mac.

The Gecko is casually cool because he's been illegally drugged by abusers of animal rights just so people could point at the commercials and go "oooh, how cute, a talking frickin Gecko!"
I saw an interview with that little guy, he was a twitchy nervous wreck. It makes me sick.

I think they need commercials advertising the stores. They can talk about how you can go in and pay 100 dollars when you buy your mac for a chance to learn how to use a Mac from someone who probably knew jack shit about the platform until they got hired at the store and learned how to be Apple's soulless smiling mouth piece...

(Incidentally I didn't get a second interview... bastards...)

Ok, those who voted, or wished that AAPK would spend a penny on a Mac campaign, were 100% wrong.
Will those holiday bets be far off reality too?

Personally, I want to see an affordable expandable Mac. I don't really care about the ad for one so long as the computer exists.

The Mac Guy versus PC Guy ads were very unique, and since they've concluded Apple probably doesn't know what strategy to use for future Mac ads. I don't know if there are any unique angles left to market from. And besides that, the Apple Stores get so much traffic, Apple may think that ads for the mass market iPlatform devices is sufficient marketing for the whole brand.

Pretty unbelievable that the most voted option in the poll was the correct choice.

How do you guys like the replacement for the classic Hodgman+Long ads? Do you think they are cutting the mustard?

Yeah, I've seen that one, but it's made in the same style they have been using for a long time. I don't really consider it new. It's not really that different from the original Air commercial.

So, is it promoting the Macintosh brand, or not?
