Hey I had a coworker once who mentioned that he'd found some really good sites for buying dress shirts online that were good quality and a fraction of the cost you'd pay for in a store. Normally I shop at Moores, but cash is a little tight right now and I'm starting a new job soon where I'll want a lot of dress shirts for at. Anyone got any sites that they've used before and can recommend?

Oh... and anyone wanna guess how long before Apple starts selling you shirts and pants through iTunes?

Funny stuff that thread title. I'm sure AKcrab had besson in mind when he said someone would be along shortly to help.

Whatever you do, don't repeat my mistake and try ordering through JCPenney.com (sorry for the typo). They don't have their act together at all. They charged me a different, higher rate than my checkout price. I canceled. Two weeks later it came back on my bill, and I canceled again, taking special care to tell them to delete my billing information because I did not want the order. Two weeks later it came back on my bill, but at least this time it was the right price I had wanted to pay initially.

Got the shirts the week after leaving for my trip. I was told the box was in such bad condition it looked like it had been dropped from the plane.

You probably shouldn't buy feces online, even if it is well-dressed.

As for the actual question at hand, I really wouldn't recommend buying clothes online, sight-unseen. They're really one of the few things that don't work as well online, unless it's from a brand with sizing you're familiar with (and even then).

PS: JCPenney, since we're on the Grammar Train™.

That's a Spelling mistake, not a Grammar mistake (since we're on the Spelling Train™).

I wouldn't buy clothing I can't try on in person.

I dunno about the States, but here, mail-order clothing stores expect returns as part of their business model (in fact, EU law requires mail-order to accept returns within 14 days).

So you order stuff, sometimes in multiple sizes, and return the unwanted pieces.

Salty, do you get traveling tailors in Winnipeg? Here in TO we get several Hong Kong tailors visiting three or four times per year. They rent a suite in a hotel, you go get measured and six weeks later you get a package form Hong Kong with your made to measure shirts. Costs about $70 per shirt, for excellent quality.

Yah thing is I'm aiming for low price shirts It doesn't matter if they fit perfectly, fact is so long as the arms are the right length and the neck is the right size, I tend to be OK. If they fit me in the shoulders they'll probably fit me everywhere.

A gay person who doesn't care about how a shirt fits? Maybe you're going to go back into the closet...

I believe Phileas is talking about Maxwells? They visit Winnipeg.

I've had one from shirtsmyway.com. Not cheap, but it was nice and very very well-fitted - which is key for me, perhaps because I'm not a gay man. But if they screw up your measurements (which has happened apparently), it can be annoying.

I just bought 4 shirts from www.itailor.com, the made to measure shirts online with 3d designer. I like them a lot and they are only $29.95 each! I was surprised at the quality of these shirts, very soft material.

Does Canada not have TJMaxx or Marshalls? Brand names for less.

This looks pretty slick. What are the shipping costs and delivery times?

Maybe, but it looks legit?

I've officially stopped buying clothing-store dress shirts. Unless you pay $125-$150 minimum, it's hard to find something good-quality in a fitted cut.

You can order made-to-measure for a reasonable price online. They fit great. I look great. That is all I require.
