Sometimes you just have to admire the ingenuity of thieves...

Yes, but doing something like that fifteen times in a row is incredibly, unfathomably stupid.

You'd think the same of 8, 9, or 10 times, but somehow these ****ers are still out and active.

15 times since 2006. There's no way the store chain would absorb that without fixing their security, unless their insurance covers it all.
Maybe insurance laws do not allow the insurer to drop them, so they're ignoring demands to upgrade security. It'll get fixed when the policy expires. That's the only angle I'm coming up with.

Publicity stunt. aka inside jobs. If it is, then I’m sure that the robbers get a portion of the money, and then the rest goes back to the company. clever kinda.

I remember a while ago there was a bank bragging about its new, impenetrable vault. It touted such features like 3 foot steel walls, floors, and one of the most complex vault doors.
So some robbers packed TNT on the roof, covered it with sandbags to direct the blast downward, and blew a giant hole in the concrete vault ceiling. They made off with over $10 million in a single go. I can't remember if they were caught.
It's like those stupid companies bragging about their encryption being uncrackable, until 3 days later someone releases a crack.
