A particularly awesome one:

Good day to you,

I am (Special Agent) Milano Signorino, from The Heathrow International Airport Security Service London, United Kingdom and i hereby wish to inform you that we have recovered your inheritance payment/consignment (box) from the criminals who were trying to redirect it's delivery to another address totally different from yours. Are you aware of this move?

The consignment (box) was retrieved from these criminals during our last route line inspection suspected to be banking instruments worth millions of United States Dollar notes in cash as indicated on the consignment papers. Reply immediately if you authorized the delivery change, and then re-confirm your full name, contact address, telephone/cell & fax for proper verifications.
Waiting your urgent response on email: heathrowsec@xnmsn.com

Would she be interested in a Coach or Dooney and Burke cover instead? What about D&G, or Vuiton?

Hey all, I can't believe this. I've got money to burn and an urge to spend it on stupid stuff. The more useless and expensive electronics, the better. Or maybe a hot car. Or a hot escort to pick up with the car. Plus sneakers. Gotta have new sneakers before the bank traces the sole patterns tomorrow morning.

So ... anyone got ideas? If you don't need it, I'm interested. If no one needs it, home run. Private suggestions welcome too, try any of my emails.

Who needs Viagra to enhance their work-from-home iPad? Or perhaps some Cailis to enlarge their free Justin Bieber iPhone?

So here's why this thread is stupid:

Most of the "spammer" email addresses are gmail/hotmail/yahoo addresses. If you just report those spams to abuse@ they will delete the entire spammer account. What do you think is more work for a spammer, having to sign up for completely new email accounts every day, or having their gmail spam folder fill up?

Email is the key to being able to post; without an account that can be verified, forums almost all block would be new members. With a full inbox, even the free email providers give subscribers problems, and this slows them down. Plus, there is usually a real person monitoring multiple posting personas to gather information a out what works and what doesn't, so they do actually have to wade through inboxes full of unsolicited emails to find out what forums have sent registration emails and which ones have warned or blocked them. Plus it is fun to picture the evil master of advertising having to plow through a ton of their own medicine.

Except that most of these addresses are gmail/hotmail/yahoo. Most if not all of the spam is being filtered out. REporting all of those account, and getting them deleted, would force the spammers to start from scratch. This thread just seems like a completely waste of time. And this from someone that has shipped rocks to scammers in africa.

l008com, you're analyzing it wrong.

If we report them, the spammers use automated scripts to register new addresses.

If we post them, their sales boxes fill with spam. And since they depend on those emails, they have to check every one to make sure a sale is not missed. So the spammers have to manually check all emails just in case, and eventually use automated scripts to register new addresses.

The only way for the spammers to beat this is to stop harvesting emails. ie - to quit with the spamming. Talk about your Hammurabian Justice - the spammers get what they deserve, and they do it to each other. Until they give up and get honest jobs in politics.

Automated scripts still need manual verification. And the scripts likely have to be regularly updated as mail providers change up their forms and put more bot protections in place.

Also I don't understand what makes you think these people scour their junk mail folder looking for potential "sales". That seems very unlikely.

But even if they did that, reporting the email address and getting it taken down would be a much better plan, because then they lose any and all potential sales that were sitting in ANY of their mailboxes.

I really don't see this thread as having any effect on anything except our own time to keep posting replies to it.
