I'm looking for a simple device that will play a flash drive full of mp3s through a simple audio-out connection. Externally powered is a plus, a screen is a double plus.

Something cigarette lighter-powered would be great.

Someone's showing off their fancy socialist primary school science education.

(Why yes, that is an awful sentence)

Sorry, maybe I should have been more clear. My end goal is to load mp3s on a flash drive that I already own, plug it into "something" in my car, and listen to music, as cheap as possible. Like under $15.

Amazon.com: NBOX TV Media Player - Supports SD/USB Drive/USB External Hard Drive - Plays DIVX/AVI/RMVB/RM/XVID/MPG: Electronics

Something like that, but strictly for audio.

I used to have something like that. It had an FM modulator as well as a line-out jack. I'll try to find something like that to show you. It was cheap, but it played MP3s from a USB drive (with a very simple directory structure, of course) just fine.

This is close, but no line-out.

Yeah, there are lots of those on Amazon for under $10, but no line out. FM modulation sucks.

Yes, it is.

'Twas an American international school, though, so…
