BBC News - First human trial of embryonic stem cells
Freakin' awesome! I remember posting here not too long ago about the first trials done on mice which recovered over 80% of their mobility after receiving treatment.
This will be the first round of human clinical trials to repair spinal cord injuries using embryonic stem cells.

I wish them luck. Success means less human suffering and improved quality of life.

I can't wait to see the results. I'm glad California has invested so much into being the research capital of the country in terms of stem cells, I'll get to be in the thick of all the breakthrough research.
We need to find a way for NASA to launch the next generation shuttles from Moffett, then the Bay Area would be the most awesomest place in the country.

This is indeed an excellent development. There are other studies going on that focus on inducing what are effectively adult stem cells from the nasal cavity lining to work on repairing nerve damage. Both are exciting developments with a lot of promise.
